The Spiritual Meaning Of Disease

Disease as a Manifestation of Mental and Energetic Dysregulation

“You cannot solve a problem at the same level of consciousness that created it.”
— Albert Einstein.

I have been studying medicine since the age of 19, and I have worked in some of the best hospitals in Greece and the UK. However, I only understood what health means when I developed my own health issue.

I will not focus on the biological and biochemical aspects of disease, but instead present a spiritual perspective—one that goes in parallel with the discoveries of quantum physics and is not taught in medical schools. It is often called metaphysical, but it is very real; it is only our ignorance that leads us to label it as such.

According to quantum physicists, separation is impossible—it is an illusion created by our limited five senses. So, if oneness is the true reality, what are diseases in this context? And what does oneness mean? Oneness means that everything and everyone is connected in an infinite present. We are all part of an endless ocean of frequencies, within an infinite field of unconditional love—each with our own point of awareness and path.

Viewed spiritually , there are no disease labels—only energy disruptions, low-frequency states caused by a lack of love. On a material level, this might be experienced as a lack of love from our parents, our peers, etc., but on a broader, spiritual level, this is about our disconnection from universal love, or God, or Source, whatever name one chooses to give it .

These energy disruptions manifest as negative emotions (fear, guilt, anger, grief, etc.) and as limiting beliefs (e.g., “I am not good enough,” “I don’t deserve,” “I must be punished,” “I must suffer”). It is always the result of a lack of love. So, ultimately, it is this lack of love that contributes to—or creates—disease.

This is a long-term process, often rooted in childhood or even in the womb. It can take decades to develop, initially appearing as an energy disruption in our energy field and, if unaddressed, later manifesting as physical symptoms. In other words, when this energy of love is blocked and the body’s frequencies are reduced, a negative cascade begins, eventually leading to symptoms.

As a result, in many diseases we observe poor cellular oxygenation, cellular acidosis, dysfunction of the endocannabinoid system, increased concentrations of positively charged ions, and reduced cellular communication (e.g., via biophotons).

Furthermore, as already mentioned, when fear and negative emotions dominate our lives, the immune system weakens and the body becomes vulnerable to various stressors and toxins, which it can no longer effectively eliminate. This process unfolds in stages, but once toxins enter the cells, a wide range of symptoms can develop. Therefore, it is the mind that needs healing first. Then, if physical limits have not been exceeded, the body may follow.

These negative emotions and limiting beliefs are part of the mind. So, from the perspective of oneness, disease is fundamentally a problem of the mind, not the body. This means that the mind creates disease, and the key question we must ask is: “Why am I doing this to myself?”

Seen in this way, disease has meaning—not only biologically, but also spiritually. It is up to us to decipher this meaning and change the direction of our lives. Otherwise, our health will continue to deteriorate.

If we do understand the spiritual meaning of a disease and change course, there is a possibility of partial or even complete recovery—provided that certain physical limits have not already been exceeded. The sooner we change course and align with our true self and our joy, the better the outcome will be . We must understand that if we have the power to create illness, then we also have the power to heal ourselves.

True healing, therefore, is the healing of the mind. This can be supported through EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) / OEFT (Optimal EFT) when properly applied.
